Sweetwater Wetlands
In this week's postcard, I talk a little about the Jubokko yokai of Edo Period Japanese folklore and my experience of the trees at Sweetwater. You can find it here.
These photos remind me that we learn things when we listen - not just to the voice of reason, but to the voice of intution that echoes with myths, stories, experiences, and connections we've collected our entire lives. Being patient and willing to hear the unexpected insights they may collectively have to offer. Cutting through the thicket of conditioning and discovering the myriad other ways of (also) knowing.

That first image especially is sublime!

That was my very first photo of the day. I quite liked that nook. It was tucked away in a thicket on a dirt trail connected to the main path. The light was a little strong in places, even with shade around! It was crazy out there - I actually loved it. Lol. I'm looking forward to going back when the temps drop a bit so I can wander around a lot more.
