About Me

Hello!

I’m a 50+ former science writer/stats lead/college instructor/pitch consultant in the start-up space. Now, I’m a photographer who enjoys infrared, experimental, and alt processes.

Welcome to Ecce Sol Studios!

Ecce Sol is Latin for "Behold the Sun". Here I explore all things full spectrum - from in-camera techniques like infrared and UV to alternative darkroom processes like cyanotypes, photograms, luminograms, and even light painting. My favorite hobby is to play with light.

Quick Tour:

Galleries highlights my portfolio work by subject.

Friends of the Studio is an ongoing project featuring amazing artists, musicians, writers, and generally awesome people who share their genius and do cool collaborations with me! Definitely check them out!

AZ State Parks Project is an ongoing project that documents the lovely and sacred protected lands in my home state. You can find curated selections of these photos displayed and available for purchase at the parks' visitors centers.

Postcards is the studio's flagship newsletter in e-postcard form offering followers updates on all my projects, upcoming events, personal reflections, and whatever else comes to mind that you might be interested in knowing. You can sign-up here!

The Vlog is a brand new personal video check-in to share techniques, interviews, my travel adventures, etc. I'm a huge fan of silent vlogs in general and want to be more ambitious exploring video, so we'll see how it goes.

Books and Prints includes links to my Kobo photobooks as well as signed prints available for purchase.

I have RSS feeds scattered through the site, so if you see the icon on a page and would like to follow, just click, copy the link into your RSS App, and you'll automatically get updates whenever I post!
