The Sun! Woot!

The sun finally came out here in the desert! I had a lovely quick visit to the national park this morning to drop off a thank you gift card and snap some pics. I'm delighted to report that the ocotillos are lush, the saguaro are saturated with green, and the Catalinas still stand stoic against our cerulean blue skies.

If you live anywhere near a national park or national monument here in the US, don't hesitate to leave a card or some token of appreciation. The unpaid rangers currently doing basic oversight are struggling mightily right now, not only with the shutdown and furloughs, but with power struggles and bizarro edicts being handed down from the regime in DC. My friend and I ran into one this past weekend who was so kind to chat with us, but couldn't hold back his tears. The public service climate right now is awful!!

These people are experts on our natural treasures, which makes them national treasures too! They deeply appreciate any thanks the public shows them.

Here are a few pics from today. So nice to bask in some beautiful 820nm light! La Nina typically delivers drier weather in the cooler months, so hopefully there will be more sunny days ahead (for everyone!)
